This is ilustration for book cover for Vladimir Nazor's "Bijeli Jelen" (The White Deer"), fantasy-fable novel. It is about poor girl who get lost in the forest, but adopted by animals; with time she grew stronger and became a kind of queen of the forest. But as there is a huge gap between animals and humans, she was banned from forest because being to much sympathetic with humans, and return happily to became real queen of the nearby human kingdom.
White deer is part of the ancient animal prophecy which came true while Zlatokosa (the name of the girl - Golden haired one) was in the Forest.
